Fattoria La Lecciaia Brunello di Montalcino 2004 Wine Review (NW)

Tasting notes:

Black cherry, berries, and aromatic cedar notes on the nose

Full bodied on the palate

Silky tannins with a  long finish of cherry, berries, earthy tobacco, and spices

Summary:

Beautifully mature, this wine is seamlessly integrated with flavor and texture. It has depth and intensity that unfolds naturally with Tuscan fare such as pasta with wild boar ragu.

I've had a number of vintages of this wine, and it always pleases. Made from 100% Sangiovese, Brunello is one of the great red wines of Italy. Prices have cooled off in recent years and this wine sells for $35-40. Raise a glass!
